Erik thinks he's going to seduce, interrogate and murder some nondescript CIA intelligence agent, and winds up biting more than he can  chew. Notes:  Unbetaed, and stuff. A bit of a change of pace--a character study of Erik, instead of Charles. For those of you who picked up on the fact that Erik was a little too perfect. Because I like to make my characters a little ugly sometimes, and as George Martin would say--no one is safe. What the hell is wrong with LJ? Why's it messing up my formatting??
NOTICE: I am going update again tomorrow early in the morning. I know it's too soon and you'll not have time to process this chapter, but I'll have to do it because more than likely I won't be able to update again until Thursday after this. I'll see what I can do, but I can't promise anythig and I didn't want to leave you hanging.

Charles has been gone for the last two days—not, as Erik initially suspected, as an attempt to avoid confrontation. There’s a moment of silence. It must be all the more confusing for Charles.

Summary: There's a locked door in Xavier Hall to which no one has access. In making inquiries, Erik realizes he's built his opinion on Charles on the wrong foundations.

Charles’ eyes dart away, shoulders pulling in as if he were trying to curl in on himself. Erik feels something tight inside his chest coil in even tighter as his stomach turns.
